For many years we cruised extensively with our Tartan 34c along the coastal and inland waters of New England and southeastern Canada. From New York to Newfoundland JOSH always made good time but more importantly, we felt secure with family and friends aboard no matter what weather brewed up on our many round-the-clock off shore trips to places like Sable Island and Port Aux Basques Newfoundland.  But, like other T34c’s JOSH adapts to inshore boating as well.  With the centerboard up, he draws just under 4 feet – great for exploring rivers like the St John in New Brunswick and with the mast cradled horizontally on the deck (easily handled by two people) we experienced wonderful canals in New York and Canada.  And he hardly shows his age. In fact, during a survey for insurance, the surveyor was so impressed with the condition of the boat that he recommended it to BoatWorks who spent a day test sailing and photographing JOSH as an impressive model of a used boat to own.  Please see the picture of JOSH under sail and click on the following link for their professional evaluation and photographs: http://www.tartanownersweb.org/models/t34/media/BoatWorks-Tartan34.pdf .  Due to family illnesses JOSH has not travelled much in the last 10-12 years, but as a valued friend we’ve winterized and launched him each year with care hoping for the best. But now, given our personal advanced condition, we realize it’s time for JOSH to move on and bring adventure and the good life to new owners.

Here are some features of JOSH’s equipment:

Two sets of sails including furling Genoas, extra stay for mounting jibs, original Universal Atomic 4 inboard engine (new fuel and ignition system), Hassler and 2Tiiller master self-steering units, three anchors, off shore safety gear, electrical and hardware back-up parts for off shore work, dinghy with new and recently serviced 3.5 HP outboard motor, and a complete set of jack stands.

We’d welcome your offer.
